‘Transcending the Material’ by Ben Cuevas

January 7, 2011

Located at the Wassaic Project in New York State is a knitted skeleton by artist Ben Cuevas. Since we are so big on knitwear at Istok Showroom, this intricately knitted skeleton really caught our eyes. It sits in a lotus position atop a pyramid of Borden condensed milk cans (Borden had a factory in Wassaic County, NY), with an array of screen prints depicting anatomical photographs with diagrams on plexi glass hanging from above.
